You will need to complete the game in a single session without dying and with a time limit. Your playthrough on New York Minute Hardcore will determine if you obtain the Platinum or not.
For example, Hardcore difficulty is only unlocked when the game has been completed on Hard. Each subsequent difficulty will only be unlocked when the previous difficulty is completed. The only stackable difficulty related trophies are those related to Hard and Medium. You will need to play through the game at least 5 times, one for each of the various difficulties. In regards to the trophy list, Max Payne 3 is one of the most difficult Platinums to obtain on the Playstation 3.
